The neo4neo course was born from a vision shared by leading Swiss neonatologists. In 1995, Mathias Nelle and Jean-Claude Fauchère met at the ESPR Congress in Alicante and envisioned a national teaching platform for future neonatologists. This idea became reality in 2004/2005, when Mathias Nelle (Bern), Riccardo Pfister (Geneva), and Jean-Claude Fauchère (Zurich) launched the neo4neo course. The first neo4neo course took place in Möschberg in 2006.
